The next generation
On Thursday night, 18th April, cousin Anton and Lotta had a baby boy! The girls and Hedgehog have a... whatever relation that makes. What do you call the relation between my kids and my nephew’s kids? No idea. Anyway, the next generation is here!
Getting in position
Hedgehog has gone from flipping positions on an hourly basis, to deciding head down and feet up might be the way to go. I agree. Firstly, I have no desire to repeat Clara’s breech debacle, and secondly, it’s nice not to have ones cervix enthusiastically kicked at all day long.
As a bonus, the rest of the family can now enjoy both seeing and feeling some pretty impressive kicks too.

Lexie the midwife
The other day I finally got to meet my assigned midwife, who will be with me until the end (and hopefully on shift when Hedgehog arrives!). I won’t get see her an awful lot, seeing as I’m 28 weeks already, but towards the end they increase appointments from every six weeks to every two weeks.
Anyway, her name is Lexie and she is wonderful. So engaging and approachable, super positive and chatty. Feels good. I was most impressed when she asked me if I have a partner. She knows I have two kids at home, but she still didn’t assume that I have a partner or that the partner is male even. Very good!

Occupation!
I feel decidedly occupied. Clara is a mummy’s girl all the way. She seems incapable of eating a meal sitting on her own chair, my lap is essential to her ability to eat. Daisy is less of a clingy type, but as soon as she sees Clara climbing on me, she suddenly needs to be under my skin.
Add to this Hedgehog, who has actually taken up residency INSIDE me, and we have a full blown occupation situation.
