Hung over

I woke up this morning and my first thought was ”I really shouldn’t drink, it makes me feel so rubbish”.

One moment later I remembered I hadn’t drunk anything at all, and it’s only the now familiar constant hangover feeling.

Thankully, getting up and having breakfast helps in my case.

One girl baby ordered

The other day, anticipating the positive test, I asked Daisy if she’d like to have a baby in the house. She instantly said ”NO, we already have a baby!”, in horror visualising another angry two-year-old pulling her hair and stealing her stuff.

But when I explained that I was talking about a tiny newborn baby, she said yes without hesitation. On condition that it’s a girl baby.

Well, Dwayne theorises that we can only have girls, so she might be in luck there.

Due date

The pregnancy app gave me a due date of 7 July 2019, based on the first day of my last period. But I feel like I know my cycles pretty well by now, and I think this little TBA was conceived a little earlier than that. I adjusted and got 5th July. I plan to ask my doctor for an early scan around 8-9 weeks (just to make sure that heart is beating), and I suppose that will confirm my calculations.

4 weeks and 4 days. It’s borderline absurd that I’ve felt decidedly pregnant for days already. Hopefully it’s a good sign.

TBA

The name for this blog is still to be decided. Daisy’s working title was The Blob, and Clara’s The Minibug. Dwayne reckons we’ll know when we see an ultrasound image. As if it comes with an invisible name tag.

Anyway, for the time being the blog will be called To Be Announced.

I knew it!

There it is, the positive test. I knew it for 96% certain this time, even though it’s very early days. I suppose practice makes perfect when it comes to detecting pregnancies too. Funnily, the adrenaline rush from actually seeing the double lines still lasted for half an hour - this clearly never gets old.

Day two and beyond
